The past few weeks have been quite busy, which is great!  Happy Thanksgiving to all!  The week prior to Thanksgiving I was on a three day behind the scenes (sort of) shoot with Marshall Coles.  The looks we got out of this shoot were great, and it was my first time working with director Mike Simpson, who brought me on board his next shoot.  I liked seeing the dynamic between Marshall and Mike in their shooting and planning.  Was great...

    Janny Marco – Ella

16 Nov 2010 in Camera Assist & Music Videos

Last weekend I was down on the Jersey Shore working with director Frankie Blanco “TKONY” on the upcoming video for Janny Marco’s music video “Ella”.  It was an early day, but thankfully not a long one!  We shot at a nice little spot called the Clam Hut, which I’d really like to hit up during the summer.  First time working with DP Marshall Coles, owner of Lumenhouse, and all around good guy.  Lighting for this shoot was spectacular, very edgy...

    Polka Dotted Fox!

08 Nov 2010 in Short Film

Last Thursday Vigilante HD had the opportunity to co-produce and DP a short film with Director Sean Cunningham of Hero Status Films.  Despite some intense time constraints on our production, our crews determination and Sean’s decisive eye was able to make the day a success.  Having writer Zachary Borst on set also helped the actors with hitting their cues on pretty much the first take!  Super fast turnaround, very impressed with Sean’s hustle with the edit, as the film is for a...

    Superblox

08 Nov 2010 in Camera Assist & Commercial

Gave some camera assistance to this exciting spot for the toy Superblox.  We shot in central New Jersey, about an hour from the city.  We were able to get our first shot off at dawn and were mobile around the premises for most of the day.  Exterior and interior, at one point we had three Canon 7d rigs up and running, and towards the end had a second unit. Army guys, Astronauts, Firemen, Policemen.  This is the sort of commercial...

    Redman – Defjamable

08 Nov 2010 in Camera Assist & Music Videos

Director Clifton Bell and DP Karl Kim are at it once again, this time with the mighty Reggie Noble!  This studio shoot was absolutely amazing, extremely smooth shoot thanks to NYLAHD’s new camera cart system w/ mitchell head mount and monitor stand.  Making camera transportation much easier!  This video was very stylized and had some interesting and unique sets.  We used a Nikon 8mm fish eye for most of the wide shots, giving the video a very dynamic feel.  Very...

    Tiffany Evans Music Video

08 Nov 2010 in Camera Assist & Music Videos

Great music video shoot for talented young artist Tiffany Evans.  She’s a small girl with a big voice!  Fantastic vocals!  DP Bruce Cole took full advantage of using the Briese 180 to a whole new level.  And of course dream team duo G & E, Justyn Davis and John Moustakas.  Produced by BANGPOP!, dir. Adam Tillman Young

    Ginuwine Music Video

08 Nov 2010 in Camera Assist & Music Videos

A Ghettonerd music video production.  Always fantastic working with Director Clifton Bell.  He has a great vision for what he wants to see on the screen.  To execute that vision, DP Karl Kim was able to maneuver the right amount of lights and rigging in a small space to create a drama in our first location.  We used a streak filter to grab some nice effects for a variety of scenes.  Steadicam op. Sergei Franklin also on the scene with some...

Hal Linton & JMC Music Videos

08 Nov 2010 in Camera Assist & Music Videos

Time to play catch up on the blog posts!  These two back to back shoots were from early October.  One for R & B Artist Hal Linton, the other for English artist JMC. Hal Linton shoot was entirely studio, and was shot with black and white in mind for the final cut.  In situation’s like this, I think rolling spreaders would have been a great addition to the kit. Hrmm, next time!  DP Karl Kim did a great job in...
